John joined Aurora in 1996, again via Tripos Travel where he served as CFO for 5 years. At the end of 2000 he moved to the UK with his family primarily to run a label printing business that he owns. However, he has retained his involvement with Aurora, and from 2002 he assisted Aurora Tourism with acquisitions in the UK which he oversaw from 2002 until 2013 at which time time they were sold. Throughout this period, John has served as a director of both Aurora Capital and Aurora Tourism, and he currently assists with their administration and financial management. After a foray into environmental journalism, Lyndon started his business career with a biotech start-up in 1988, based in the UK, where he served as Finance Director for 6 years. He moved to South Africa in 1995 where he founded Aurora Tourism which he then grew both organically and through acquisition. He was Chairman of Aurora Tourism’s main subsidiary, Tripos Travel, for 12 years whereupon it became a subsidiary of a listed South African company. He then served at Tripos as CEO for a further 8 years whereupon, in 2015, he stepped aside and has served as non-executive director since then. This has given him time to focus on other investments within the Aurora Capital portfolio, and in 2019 he returned to the UK with his family and is based in Somerset.
